Lester’s Logic 10 – Muay Thai Jab-Cross 4 Counts

In this instructional video, I demonstrate four effective Muay Thai 4-count combinations. These combinations are relatively easy to learn but extremely effective when mastered. They all incorporate the fundamental jab-cross sequence while adding diverse follow-up techniques.

The 4-Count System

The 4-count system in Muay Thai provides a structured way to practice combinations. Each count represents a specific technique, and when performed in sequence, they create effective offensive patterns. The 4-count format helps develop:

  • Rhythm and timing
  • Flow between techniques
  • Balanced striking patterns
  • Proper weight distribution

Benefits of These Combinations

These specific jab-cross 4-count combinations offer several advantages:

  1. They build from the fundamental jab-cross sequence that forms the foundation of effective striking
  2. They incorporate a variety of weapons (hands, elbows, knees, kicks)
  3. They create effective entries for both striking continuation and clinch work
  4. They develop coordination between upper and lower body weapons

Training Applications

To get the most from these combinations:

  • Practice slowly at first, focusing on proper technique
  • Gradually increase speed and power as you become comfortable
  • Work these combinations on heavy bags, focus mitts, and Thai pads
  • Incorporate them into your shadowboxing routine
  • Eventually test them in controlled sparring sessions

Progressive Learning

Learn these combinations in the following order:

  1. Master each individual technique separately
  2. Practice the first two counts together
  3. Add the third count
  4. Complete the full 4-count combination
  5. Increase speed and power gradually

With consistent practice, these 4-count combinations will become natural weapons in your Muay Thai arsenal, applicable in both competition and self-defense situations.
